Bail FAQs
The brig at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton holds service members in military confinement in the county's far north. The address is Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA 92055.
Military confinement runs under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, entirely outside the county court system.
There is no bail bond in the military system. A civilian charge filed in San Diego County alongside a military matter is a separate question, and that part we can help with.
We tell callers this before anything else: if the hold is federal or military, a San Diego County bail bond will not open the door. If there is also a county charge, that piece is ours and we will handle it.
Visiting runs on a scheduled, restricted calendar. Bail posting at Camp Pendleton Brig does not — a bond can be accepted at any hour of any day.

Federal and military facilities run their own schedules and their own release rules.
We will tell you plainly if the case is outside the county system rather than start paperwork that cannot help.

Camp Pendleton Brig does not run on the county bail schedule. The steps below are what determines release here.
We confirm from the booking whether the hold is county, federal, or immigration. This single question decides everything that follows.
Federal detainees appear before a magistrate judge, who sets release conditions — not a dollar figure from a county schedule.
A bail bond written against the San Diego County schedule cannot release someone held here, and we will not take a premium pretending otherwise.
If a county case is also filed, we post that bond and tell you plainly that it resolves only the county side.
Premium on a California bail bond is set by the rate filed with the Department of Insurance under Cal. Ins. Code §1800, the starting figure comes from the San Diego County Superior Court felony and misdemeanor bail schedule, and review or reduction runs under Penal Code §1270.1.
We do not post county bail bonds at Camp Pendleton Brig, because county bail bonds do not work there. That is worth saying in plain language rather than burying it.
What we can do is read the booking, tell you which system has custody, and point you to the right one. If a county charge exists alongside it, we write that bond at 10% premium with 1% down on approved credit.
Armstrong has been doing this in California since 1968. Part of the job is telling people when they do not need us.
A bond written at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Brig stays live through every appearance until the case resolves. A missed date can mean a forfeited bond and a bench warrant the same day, with a limited statutory window to bring the defendant back before the forfeiture becomes a judgment against the cosigner. Who is writing this bond
Cecil C. Armstrong opened our Glendale office in 1926. Four generations later, Bill Armstrong (CEO) and Nikki Armstrong (Co-CEO & Licensed Bail Agent) — the fourth generation of the family — still run the company, and our agents still answer the phone themselves. When you call about an arrest in Los Angeles or San Diego County, you reach a licensed Armstrong agent, not a national call center that hands your file to a stranger in another state.
