San Diego County Courthouses

San Diego Superior Court runs seven locations countywide — far fewer than Los Angeles, and each one covers a wide stretch of ground. Addresses, phone lines, what every building actually hears, and where the bond gets filed.

Seven courthouses cover 4,200 square miles here, which means the building on the notice is often nowhere near the town where the arrest happened — a Julian arrest is called in El Cajon, a Fallbrook arrest in Vista, a Border-area arrest in Chula Vista. Two of the seven are limited-purpose: Kearny Mesa handles traffic and juvenile infractions, and the juvenile court on Meadow Lark Drive is a confidential specialty court where no adult bail applies at all.

One thing is true at every one of them: no courthouse in California takes a bail bond at a counter. The bond is filed at the facility holding the defendant — San Diego Central Jail, Vista, South Bay, or Las Colinas in Santee for women. We post at all of them, 24 hours a day, at the state-regulated 10% premium with as low as 1% down on approved credit. Our San Diego line is (619) 560-0106.

Adult Courthouses

Criminal, civil, family, probate, and traffic calendars. These are the buildings where bail is set, reviewed, and exonerated — though the bond itself is always filed at the jail, never at a courthouse counter.

Juvenile Court — No Adult Bail Posted Here

Delinquency, dependency, and adoptions for minors. A minor is detained or released to a parent or guardian by court order after a detention hearing — there is no bail schedule and no bail bond in these proceedings.

How Bail Works At San Diego Courts

California bail rules apply at every San Diego Superior Court location. The bond is filed at the jail — the courthouse controls the amount, not the transaction.

San Diego uses the same California Department of Insurance-regulated 10% premium as the rest of the state, applied to the amount on the county's felony and misdemeanor bail schedule. A $25,000 bail generally means a $2,500 premium, and we write payment plans from as low as 1% down on approved credit.

Missing a court date at any of these locations can produce a bench warrant and a bond forfeiture the same day. If that happens, call us about a failure-to-appear bail bond before the warrant catches up with a traffic stop.
